The Art of
Paramparik Bandhani

Bandhani is an ancient Indian tie and dye craft derived from the Sanskrit word 'Banda' meaning 'to tie'. This extraordinary craft has been historically practiced in parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan, defining the rich sartorial identity of the region.
Paramparik Bandhani refers to the pure, traditional, and authentic methods passed down through generations. It is an art form heavily reliant on the precision of human hands, taking months—and sometimes years—to create a single masterpiece.
"Every dot is a testament to patience. Every knot holds a secret prayer."
1. The Tying (Bandhna)
Using continuous threads, artisans pinch minuscule portions of fabric and tie thousands of knots tightly. This resistance prevents the dye from entering the tied areas, creating the classic dot pattern.

2. The Dyeing (Rangna)
The fabric undergoes multiple rounds of dyeing, starting from the lightest color like yellow and progressing into deeper jewel tones like madder red, deep green, or indigo.
